Successful ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 Interim Audits

Longley Concrete has recently had successful interim audits at both their Dewsbury and London facilities for both ISO 14001 and ISO 9001. The business’ current certificates are valid until April 2017; they have been ISO accredited since April 2011.

The ISO 14001 standard sets out the criteria for an environmental management system and maps out a framework that a company or organisation can follow to set up an effective environmental management system. It can be used by any organisation regardless of its activity or sector. The standard provides assurance to company management and employees as well as external stakeholders that environmental impact is being measured and improved.

ISO 9001 sets out the criteria for a quality management system and is the only standard that can be certified to. The standard is based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach and continual improvement.

Works Director Vincent Ross commented “The ISO Standards provide peace of mind for our staff and customers that we take seriously our commitments to the environment and to quality and process management. We continue to strive to achieve high standards within both of these areas as well as in health and safety matters.”
