Insulated flooring installation

Showcasing Longley Concrete’s installation services

As housebuilders across the UK and Ireland know only too well, the importance of effective installation in any new build programme cannot be understated. Get it right and all aspects run smoothly and seamlessly on schedule, but getting it wrong is almost sure to result in delays and cost implications. Longley Concrete’s experienced contracting department can advise the best option for a successful site installation as they offer a full supply and fix service.

Longley Concrete utilises a range of delivery vehicles, including articulated wagons with trailers ranging from 11m to 13.6m (up to 16m total length) and either a crane or forklift attachment offloading facility. Rigid vehicles are also available with beds that can extend from 7m to 11.5m.

The business offers all their precast concrete products on a supply and fix basis, with the full installation service ensuring complete peace of mind. With in-depth knowledge of beam and block, hollowcore and insulated flooring as well as precast concrete staircases, lift shafts and stadia, Longley’s trained and qualified in-house fixing teams possess extensive installation experience for all manner of construction sites and locations. Their experience is backed up by a commitment to training and health and safety. Longley Concrete’s installation teams include personnel who are CSCS precast installers and are SSSTS trained, along with CPCS crane supervisors and CPCS slingers/signallers. These personnel are also trained in manual handling and working at height.

The company prepares and delivers comprehensive risk assessments and method statements to guarantee that supply and fix jobs are completed in the correct manner. These tasks are carried out by a dedicated Contracts Supervisor, who will analyse the site’s location, specific requirements and conditions. In the case of lift shaft installations, the Contracts Supervisor will also put together a crane schedule and lift plan.

Commenting on the above, Mark Hulse, Head of Contracting at Longley Concrete says “Our qualified teams across the UK pride themselves on a swift and successful installation. With a thorough understanding of the Longley product range, our installers are trained to fit our floors, lift shafts, staircases and stadia, meaning that customers can be confident that all our products are installed to a high standard and the build programme will remain on schedule.”
