Retirement of a precast concrete legend, Dave Leebetter

Dave Leebetter has been with Longley Concrete over ten years in the role of Contracts Manager, but he has been in the precast concrete industry for over 50 years. Dave started out visiting sites with his dad at a young age and has continued his interest in precast, working with most of the precast concrete manufacturers across the UK.

Starting out installing precast concrete beams, Dave has risen to become a contracts manager with responsibility for site surveys and health and safety on large installation jobs. Dave’s knowledge of precast concrete flooring is unrivalled and his knowledge of the latest health and safety initiatives has ensured his team have been safe on site during large scale lift shaft, staircase and flooring installation jobs.

His colleagues speak very highly of Dave and he will be missed in the business as an affable, reliable, experienced and likeable character.

Some impressive stats from Dave’s career include:
• In his flooring installation days, Dave would have installed over 2 million lin metres of beam and block flooring
• Since becoming a contracts manager for Longley Concrete 10 years ago Dave has clocked up over 400,000 miles! That’s 16 times round the earth!

Dave retired on the 2nd July and will be enjoying spending time with his family and gardening. Although, we don’t doubt he’ll also be keeping up to speed on the latest developments in the Longley and precast concrete world! We wish Dave all the best for his retirement.
