7-day casting and recruitment help Dewsbury factory meet demand
Longley Concrete has been on a recruitment drive to bolster factory workers at their Dewsbury manufacturing plant due to an increase in demand for precast concrete beams and flooring. The factory now operates 7-days a week on a shift rota over 12 hours a day.
Factory Manager Ian Lyman commented “We have seen an increase in demand for our floor beams and have changed our working patterns to achieve the maximum output from the Dewsbury factory. Our team now work 2 shifts, producing enough floors beams to floor 90 houses a day. We also recently extended our concrete beds to increase capacity.”
A number of new workers have been recruited to help manage the increase in production including shift manager Shaun Greasely, who comes from a precast concrete background, with over 20 years’ experience. Shaun will be a valuable addition to the team and will be helping to ensure maximum efficiency from the new shift and rota schedule.
The factory at Dewsbury manufactures precast concrete floor beams for housing developers and self-builders. Longley Concrete floor beams are quick to install and can be used with EPS blocks for additional insulation. Longley also provide Hollowcore flooring, precast concrete staircase and lift shafts.
