A Tough Mudder Weekend for Longley team
A team of 7 from Longley Concrete in Dewsbury took part in Tough Mudder this weekend at Broughton Hall, Skipton.
The Tough Mudder courses are famous for being the toughest combination of obstacles and running, designed to test stamina and mental grit. The challenge is all about working together as a team to complete the course. The Skipton course combined a 12 mile run with 20 unique obstacles, 500,000 litres of mud and 40 tons of ice. Obstacles include The Block Ness Monster; 60ft of slick, rotating barriers which Mudders have to pull, push and roll their way through, as well as Artic Enema 2.0, a high speed entry slide and centre wall which the team had to swim under to escape the 10 tons of ice!
The Longley team trained over a 6 month period for the event, which they completed for charity Help for Heroes. The team raised over £1000 for the charity, whose mission is to deliver an enduring national network of support for the wounded and their families. Help for Heroes inspire and enable those who have made sacrifices to achieve their full potential.
Well done to all the team – Sharon, Rob, Adam, Luke, Henry, Sam and Richard.
