Longley Concrete wins business with Barr Technical Services

Longley Concrete has won two contracts with Barr Technical Services for the design, manufacture and installation of stairs and stadia with an order value in excess of £225,000.

The West-Yorkshire based company will be supplying concrete elements for the new Ashton Gate Bristol City Football stadium, as well as stadia and staircases for the Irvine Leisure Centre in Scotland.

Longley Concrete has previously worked on large scale stadiums, including the Arsenal FC training ground, providing Beam and Block flooring products for the build.

The Irvine Leisure Centre is a state of the art £20 million new leisure complex bringing together top quality community, culture and leisure facilities by North Ayreshire Council. Longley Concrete will be providing the stairs and stadia seating for the project.

Longley’s Ireland production plant designed and built the concrete elements for both projects. The business also has precast concrete production facilities in Belvedere, London and Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.

Longley Concrete, part of the Longley Group, continues to thrive and has recently posted its highest turnover figure in the Group’s trading history at circa £21 million for the year.

Managing Director Michael Longley commented “We are delighted that after trading for nearly 70 years we continue to grow and to find new markets for our precast concrete products. We have worked hard to grow the business through innovative new products and continued investment in our people and facilities.”
