First sale of new insulated flooring system

Following a successful Ecobuild exhibition, where Longley Concrete demonstrated their above beam new insulated flooring system, Longleys is pleased to announce their first sale of the new system.

One of our valued customers has ordered the new above beam flooring system, which can achieve U-values as low as 0.09, for a 111 housing phase at the Keepmoat City Waterside development in Stoke on Trent.

The Longley Concrete above beam insulated flooring system consists of pre-stressed concrete beams infilled with lightweight polystyrene blocks. The floor is overlaid with a top sheet of EPS insulation and completed with a reinforced structural concrete topping. This new insulated flooring system has an A+ rating in the BRE Green Guide to specification and is 100% recyclable.

Technical Director Vanessa Dunkley commented “Our new, above beam insulated flooring system is an innovative method of achieving low U-values in homes and is competitively priced as an alternative to other insulated flooring options. We are pleased that this new product is already being used on large scale building sites and feel confident that this will be a key product for Longley Concrete as the trend for an increase in energy-efficient living continues.”

In addition to a range of insulated flooring systems, Longley Concrete produces Beam & Block and Hollowcore flooring as well as Staircase and Lift Shafts.
