Concrete stadia for new Irvine Leisure centre

Precast Concrete producer Longley Concrete has successfully completed the manufacture and installation of terrace units and staircases at the new Irvine Leisure Centre development in Ayrshire.
The Irvine Leisure Centre is a state of the art £20 million new leisure complex bringing together top quality community, culture and leisure facilities by North Ayrshire Council.

Longley Concrete’s Northern Ireland factory produced the bespoke concrete terraces and staircases for the project, which were then freighted to Irvine using three articulated trucks. The project consisted of 43 pieces of precast concrete terrace units, each 2.67m in length and 4 flights of stairs. The installation took place over two days and required the concrete pieces to be craned into position.

The units will form the basis for stadia seating for the leisure centre’s new 25 metre, 6-lane swimming pool, part of the new leisure complex.
