Longley Concrete’s Ireland facility has recently expanded its production space to facilitate the increase in demand for the firm’s precast lift shaft and stair products. The new space will enable Longley Concrete to increase production of both lift shafts and staircases by 25% annually at their office and manufacturing base in Castledawson, Londonderry.

Longley Concrete also have production facilities in Yorkshire and London, and together these three plants provide a nationwide service for its precast concrete products to most major house builders and builders merchants.

Managing Director Michael Longley commented “Our Ireland plant celebrates 5 years of production this year and we are pleased to be able to expand the site and increase our capacity there. The factory primarily manufactures lift shafts and staircases for Longley Concrete, which are then transported to sites across the UK and Ireland. The additional space will enable us to add further staircase moulds at a later date.”

Longley Concrete’s lift shafts are constructed before delivery to site, which means a quick and efficient installation on site as well as fewer mechanical issues. Each lift shafts is bespoke and can be configured up to 6 storeys high. The precast concrete stairs have a high quality finish which gives a durable concrete staircase for long maintenance free life. Precast concrete stairs offer significant benefits during the construction phase of a project providing rapid installation and early safe access to subsequent floors for trades and materials.
